About

My name is Chaundra. I can tell my entire life story through dishes. When I was 8 I learned to cook ground beef, and thus chili, spaghetti, and tacos. It gave me a degree of independence. When I was 12 my shirt caught on fire at the stove. My mom grabbed the flame with her bare hand and snuffed it out. That taught me to be fearless while cooking. When I was 20 I made the best chicken alfredo of my life. I fed it to a boyfriend. He married me. Dishes are so full of life literally and figuratively. I hope reading this blog breathes new life into your kitchen. I’m sharing as many recipes, menus, and tips as I can think of.

Today, I’m a writer, a mom, a wife, and I work in the real world at your standard office job, for now.
I’m an aspiring a personal chef and caterer and aspiring full-time blogger with some journalism experience and a passion for food. Until I started this blog, I was a little misguided about what I should be doing with myself. But it’s pretty clear to me now. What I thought would be a catalog of my kitchen creations has clearly morphed into something else. I hope you like it. I hope you’ll come back for more.
If you do, you’ll see this is more than just a food blog. It’s a place where I’ll share dishes and dish about life. For me, that means the food, my family and my faith.

Every one of us has a Life in Dishes. Maybe yours is a fast food life, a frozen food life, a vegetarian life or a carb-free life. Whatever it is, the life in our food is undeniable.

Dishes nourish us physically and spiritually, sometimes filling more than a natural hunger. A family recipe can instill pride and nostalgia. A subtle flavor may trigger memories from your childhood, a special vacation, your wedding night, or a first love.

This blog is about finding a Love life in dishes. Eat what you love, even if it means making it yourself. I hope the stories about food inspire you to do just that. I also hope to inspire you to love your life. I pray this blog will feed your spirit.
