    Love in the morning…

I love the stillness of the morning. I feel like God is perched on the edge of his seat reaching down to gently nudge us from our slumbering. He’s listening for our cries of gratitude. It’s so quiet. I know he hears me clearly in the morning. When I do the right thing and get a full night’s rest, the snooze button doesn’t tempt me to linger. Then I have more time to talk to Him and that nourishes and charges my spirit. Then I nourish my mind and my body with a protein packed breakfast like this fritatta. Amen. Zucchini Bites

When I grow up, I plan to wake up at about 5 a.m. each day and spend time in prayer and meditation. Then, I’ll brew myself a nice cup of coffee, or indulge in an exotic, herbal tea. I’ll sit in front of a window with the sun on my face, or out in my gazebo and just bask in the glory and wonderment of a new day.  Afterward, I’ll make myself a nice breakfast, take a beautiful picture of that day’s first meal being kissed by the sunlight and share it with you all. That’s the plan. Lord, help me to grow up more quickly. Until then, I’ll keep waking up…

    Guacamole

Summer = Mexican food + Margaritas. It’s been a lovely summer. I’ve enjoyed a few road trips, lots of  tacos, and quesadillas, melted cheese and rice & beans. But who can eat Mexican without some essential condiments? Salsa, Pico de Gallo and my favorite is guacamole. Avocados are so cool and creamy. Before the season changes again, I beseech you, make some guacamole.
