Some ridiculous things happened this week. The temperature dropped to 5 degrees, all the schools and many businesses closed. There was no snow, but the metro-Atlanta area did observe a few cold days. I still have no idea what 5 degrees feels like. I didn’t participate. I too, a native Floridian, paid my respect to the Hawk by staying at home. How to keep your resolution
Okay, This is the first full week in the new year and whether you set a goal, or called it a resolution, a theme or a change – we have to take another step. We can’t seriously move further without it. I mean, we need to take a little time now to get a lot of results later. I’m right here with you on this one. I’m talking about writing down the goal and then making a step-by-step action plan. Because, it’s alright to say, “I want to lose 30 lbs this year” but it’s even better to write that goal down in the affirmative, “I WILL lose 30 lbs…

Hoppin’ John {and a new year}
Happy New Year!! In the South it’s tradition to eat black eyed peas on New Year’s Day for good luck in the coming year. You could also eat collards, chitterlings, throw salt over your shoulders or make sure a man is the first person to cross your threshold, AND that there are no dirty clothes in the house. I know, that’s a lot and more than a little too much. Man can really get carried away with tradition and superstition and the notion of luck. But back to the black eyed peas.
