Grateful: Day 3, Halloween Fun

DSCN3477

Happy Halloween!

Today, I’m grateful for fun times with little people. This image is from about 6 years ago when I dressed my daughter as Michael Jackson. It was a real thriller (get it?) hunting for the right pieces at the thrift store, then watching it all come together.

Halloween is one occasion that forces us to rekindle our imaginations. It’s hard not to be affected by the wonder and excitement it causes for children all around you.

This year my girls are dressed as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz and a little hungry Hippo. I woke up early to get Dorothy all set with the appropriate hair style and accessories before she went off to school. She was too proud and very eager to head off and see her friends’ ensembles.

Later, we’ll be going door to door on a quest for candy and we’ll be enjoying scary movies and hot chocolate as a family tonight and I am very grateful for all of that.
