Grateful Day 10: Good Health

I saw my optometrist and my dentist this week. It was time for my routine checkups. I’ll see my general practitioner after the new year for the same reason. And I’m blessed that these are just routine checkups and nothing is wrong.

Yesterday, I had a long talk with a coworker whose husband has been battling cancer for some years now. He has good days. He has bad days.

During Thursday Night Football this week the NFL spent a lot of time talking about Leah, the 4-year-old daughter of a Bengals player who is also ill with cancer.

Every where you turn, there are so many examples and instances of poor health, illnesses and disease. It’s easy to take for granted that you are well and not even consider that you or your loved ones could be afflicted at any time.

We go about day to day in a healthy state not thinking about how good we feel…until…we do get sick. That’s when we begin to appreciate and anticipate being well again.

Today, I’m taking notice and so very grateful for my good health.
