    Pancake Face

    I’m developing a new habit. It’s called breakfast. And I’m not talking about the granola-bar-and-coffee, or Starbucks-and-a-muffin kinda breakfast. I’ve decided to wake up and cook myself a respectable meal every morning. It is, after all, the most important meal of the day and the time you can consume the most calories. This is the fuel you’ll be burning off for the rest of the day, so go for it!

    Boy did I wake up on the right side of the bed this morning! It was the side with the pecans, bananas and cinnamon. And I ate gooey, good banana bread for breakfast. The 6 brown bananas in my fruit bowl forced my hand. Actually, the story started about 2 weeks ago. My child okey doked me (again) at the farmers market. She proclaimed that we needed bananas, a bunch with 6, in fact. Then she diligently counted until she found the right bunch, placed it in the cart and promised to eat them all.     Eat your veggies!

    Yes. These are brussel sprouts. I know, I know… But, don’t they look yummy? Brussels don’t have the best reputation and I may or may not remember gagging on them as a child, but I’m older now and more open minded. Recently, I tried them again. I was out of town with a foodie friend and all of her friends were raving about the brussel sprout appetizer at our dinner destination. And then it happened. My latest food obssession.
