F is for French Toast
On the weekend, I like to cook breakfast for my family. To clarify we do eat breakfast on weekdays but usually it’s something quick and portable. Boiled eggs, pop tarts, a muffin or a bagel can all be carried out the door and eaten en route to school and work. When Saturday rolls around, since we take the time to sit and eat together I like to make something nice. This French toast has become a hit with the girls. It started when my friend Stephanie told me she uses raisin bread to make hers. And with that information she changed my world.

Veggie Grill…Chayote Squash
I tried something new the other day. I like to do that, especially when I dine. So there I was, honoring my Friday lunchtime tradition and having a fine dining experience at the hot buffet in Whole Foods when I spotted the sign. It read: Grilled Chayote Squash. Hmm. I’d seen these things in the farmers market before, but knew so little about them that I never bought one. This was a great way to find out what they are all about, and boy did I found out. Simply Spinach Pie
I made this pie. It was good. But this story gets better. And that’s because, it’s so incredibly easy to make and full of spinach. We all need some of that in our lives. Look at how it impacted Popeye. He was at his best when he had that can-o-spinach. Vegetables will do that for you.
