    TNT: The Series

    I want to make beautiful food. I’d love to share some delicious photographs of thoughtfully plated dishes…and I will…eventually. Soon. Or maybe later. I don’t know. Right now and for the last year (at least) I’ve been caught between two very significant distractions, two exceptionally and worthy causes. They are my children. The Toddler and the Tween. I find the contrasts with are at times vast and other times absent. Like that evening we were all in the kitchen, just before dinner and both girls were crying. The Toddler was upset just because.     We are already in month TWO of 2015, ya’ll. Just like that. I was meaning to let you know what I ate and cooked over the holidays and who was visiting and what projects I accomplished around the house during my days off. I meant to share my insightful intention/resolution for 2015, too. But, guess what. Go on…Guess. Baby! I have a new baby. I have two bigger babies who were home for the holidays too (and a husband) and my, my, my. I was consumed with being mommy and activities other than anything I thought I would do with my time “off”.     Sweet Potato & Sausage Soup

    Winter is here and soup is needed. I’m talking about warm and hearty soups. Yes, we need bowls full of flavor and love, sweetness and salt and goodness. Oh look! Here’s one. I kept playing with it until I got it just right for you. We had to eat a few test pots. It’s cool, we don’t mind. Someone has to do it. Have I ever mentioned that I really like sweet potatoes? I do. They’re like friends that I like to play with all of the time and good things usually happen when we play together. This soup is a very good thing.
