Grateful: Day 14, Crock-Pots
When I walked into the house this evening, I had the baby in her carrier hanging from my forearm. A breast pump and my purse were draped over my left shoulder and my lunch box and her baby bag over the right shoulder. I was so grateful to smell dinner.
I’d forgotten about the genius move I made this morning by tossing some drumsticks and barbecue sauce in my Crock-Pot.
I was too relieved! I put everything down and made my way to the simmering pot to sneak a taste (and burn my tongue).
I’m so grateful that while I was at work this appliance was slowly making our dinner with care. It had the meat so tender it was falling off the bone. I whipped up a side and dinner was served. Go me. Thank you, Crock-Pot.
The “recipe” is below. It’s so easy I can hardly call it a recipe.

- 10 to 12 Chicken Drumsticks
- 1 large 40 ounce jar of BBQ Sauce
- 3 to 4 cups of water
- Add all of the ingredients to your Crock-Pot. Start with the chicken, then add the barbecue sauce, then add enough water to cover the meat. Turn it on to the 10-hour setting, place the lid on and have a great day.
